Alliance in partnership with Bridges 2020

The Structural Concrete Alliance is delighted to announce that it will be working in partnership with Bridges 2020, which takes place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 12 March and will this year be followed by a post event workshop on Friday 13 March.

For 27 years, the Bridges conference and exhibition has driven technical knowledge, debate and discussion at the heart of Europe’s bridge community.

The conference programme includes over nine confirmed speakers and will serve a wide variety of challenging case studies, cutting-edge technologies as well as the latest developments in bridge construction, inspection, maintenance and structural health monitoring.

Highlights of the main conference programme include a presentation on the offshore mega project nearing completion in Reunion Island, 900km east of Madagascar. There have been several innovations during the construction of the 5.4km-long offshore viaduct that is part of the Nouvelle Rue du Littoral project, including the installation of massive precast sections as well as the specially designed scour-protection system.

Also back on the conference agenda will be the popular Pecha Kucha-style series of quick-fire presentations focussed on bridge innovations.

The Structural Concrete Alliance will be exhibiting on both days, and Chris Spence, Chair of the Allaince Board will be speaking at the Workshop on Friday 13 March.
